Howard Wagler, Lead Pastor
Howard was raised in southern Indiana on a crop and dairy farm. After 20 successful years in the family business, he felt the call of God on his life to serve Him in a different way, and the Wagler family moved to Kansas in August of 1990 so Howard could enroll in the Hesston College Pastoral Ministries Program. After graduating from Hesston College, South Hutchinson Mennonite Church called Howard to become their pastor; a position he has held since 1992.
Howard enjoys music, biking, running, and spending time with family while staying connected to the community through antique tractor pulling and motorcycling. Howard & Cathy have three grown children and five grandchildren.

Eric Miller, Associate Pastor
Eric grew up in Northeastern Ohio. A graduate of Hesston College, Eric was invited to join the pastoral staff after his graduation from the Pastoral Ministries Program in 2007. Eric has felt God’s call to pastoral ministry and brings gifts and passions to SHMC.
Eric is married to Karmen and they have two children: Brinna Skye and Eden Willow.

Jeremy Patterson, Campus Pastor Journey @ Yoder
Jeremy joined the SHMC pastoral staff the summer of 2008 to give leadership to our new campus located one mile north of Yoder. Jeremy grew up in Northeast Ohio and came to us after graduating from the Hesston College Pastoral Ministries Program. Jeremy is married to Michele and they have three children: Greta, Jude and Cora.
Jeremy’s other loves are cycling and staying active, a good movie, a night out on the town with family and friends & taking any chance to be outside in the fresh air. He’s also a die-hard Cleveland Brown & Ohio State Buckeye’s fan.

Sheri Saner, Children’s Outreach Pastor
Sheri grew up in rural Kansas and moved to Hutchinson in 1998. She has a master’s degree in education and taught special education in Reno County for seven years. After volunteering in Children’s Ministry at SHMC for several years, Sheri joined the pastoral staff in 2005. Sheri has a passion for teaching children about Jesus and helping families discover faith together.

Jesse Blasdel, Student Outreach Pastor
Jesse joined the SHMC pastoral staff in October 2009 to give leadership to Student Ministries. Jesse graduated from Friends University with a degree in Music and from Tabor College with a degree in Christian Ministry. Jesse and his wife, Shiloh, moved to South Hutchinson from Lander, WY. They have three children: Carsen, Kennedy, and Havily.
Jesse’s passion for youth and his ability to listen to them have made a difference in the lives of the students at SHMC.
